Hotel Cheyenne Review

Hotel Cheyenne is one of Disneyland Paris’s value hotels. This kind of hotel is marketed to guests who want the benefits of staying in a Disney hotel whilst not paying for luxury. This therefore means that you get all the basic Disney advantages whilst not breaking the bank. Hotel Cheyenne is my go to hotel when visiting DLP and is where I have chosen to stay for my last two visits! I hope I can share my knowledge of this hotel and that it might help you in deciding where to stay on your next trip.

Hotel Cheyenne is a Wild West themed hotel based about a 15 minute walk from the parks. If you are unable or don’t fancy the walk, then no worries, there is a free shuttle bus outside the lobby that takes you straight to the parks. The theming of this hotel is truly immersive. The whole resort is made to look like a Western town, which makes you feel like you’re not just staying at any random hotel. This is one of the joys of Disney magic! You can see the thought and care that went into designing and building everything, so it really feels like you have jumped into another world. Luckily, even though this resort is extremely popular, it never feels too crowded, as there are around 1000 rooms spread across the ‘town’ for guests to occupy.

The lobby of this hotel is beautiful, with high ceilings, exposed wooden beams and a fireplace, you really feel as though you’ve stepped into another time period. The entire place gives off the perfect cosy vibe, which is another reason why I love this hotel. As well as the check in desk, the lobby houses a concierge service, reservation desk and often a character meet and greet. I’d suggest making all your dinner reservations at this desk upon arrival, just to make sure you get to experience the places you want to dine in (check out my Where should I eat? Guide for DLP for tips). If you see a character in the lobby definitely go and say hi, not only are the queues shorter, the backdrop of the lobby will be nothing like the photos you’ll get in the parks.

If you’re planning to dine at this hotel then you’re in luck! Hotel Cheyenne, houses a buffet restaurant (Chuck Wagon Cafe), a bar (Red Garter Saloon) and its very own Starbucks. I’ve experienced all three options and will give you my honest opinion on each.

Chuck Wagon Cafe

This buffet restaurant has some great options for breakfast and dinner, but is normally closed for lunch. The food is tasty and filling but nothing to rave about. I’d suggest dining here if using a dining plan credit or if the parks are very busy.

This bar is open most of the day and evening, and is the perfect spot to have a drink after a long day in the parks. Grab a cocktail, beer or soft drink and maybe a snack to wind down after a magic filled day. The cocktails, although pricey, are delicious and so I’d definitely recommend trying one.

Starbucks

This is the perfect location for a quick coffee in the morning before you head to the park. Normally at park opening a lot of food outlets aren’t open, so if you need your morning pick me up then I’d recommend heading to Starbucks before your full day in the parks.

Most Disney hotels hold the same amenities in their standard rooms. In Hotel Cheyenne you can expect the following, in a Woody’s Roundup standard room: TV, WiFi, kettle, telephone, hair dryer, towels, soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, air conditioning, safe. You can also request a baby cot from the front desk for no extra charge; however if you fancy an adults night, the hotel offers a babysitting service for an additional cost. Another amenity on site is the Boutique General Store. This on site shop holds all kinds of souvenirs whilst having the necessary items you may have forgotten to pack. Additionally the site is disabled friendly and has various types of rooms that are adapted to meet special needs.

If you are looking for in hotel entertainment, then budget friendly options such as Hotel Cheyenne, don’t have much to offer. If you are looking for a way to keep the kids busy there is an indoor play area, but parental supervision is required. The other option is a little pony ride, for an additional cost. In certain seasons children can ride the ponies which secretly I’ve always wanted to do, shame it’s only for the kids!

The room type I have always stayed in is Woody’s Roundup standard room. You are able to book a room closer to hotel amenities or with a river view, where it is a bit quieter, but I’d suggest just booking the standard as the resort isn’t big enough or loud enough to warrant the extra money. Both times I have stayed here there has been a double bed and a pull out sofa bed in the room (some rooms have 2 doubles). I have slept on both these beds and they are both extremely comfortable. The layout of the room is perfect for friends, couples and families alike. The room is spacious with a couple of chairs, wardrobe, chest of drawers and a dressing table, which is perfect when there’s a few people getting ready at once. The bathroom is small but perfectly ok for a short stay. If you want you can also request adjoining rooms with a door in between which is great for larger groups. The maid service at the hotel is second to none, just like all Disney hotels, and in my experience the rooms have always been immaculately clean. If you are a light sleeper, like me, I’ve never had trouble in this resort.

Hotel Cheyenne, in my opinion, is the best budget friendly hotel on Disneyland Paris property. The Wild West theming and Toy Story rooms are great for a short stay, and the staff are practically perfect in every way! I hope this review has helped you decide if this hotel is a good option for you, not luxurious but great fun and value for money. Hotel Cheyenne is always my go to hotel for a lower cost visit, I hope it will become yours! Have a magical time!
